Where does DB Systems offer Network Services?

Anywhere in the world, DB Systems continue to provide network services globally.   For international events you can rest assured that we can provide the technical expertise necessary to liaise with international Internet Service Providers and contractors to get your event connected.

Is it possible to install services in the middle of a field or away from buildings?

Yes.  It requires special wireless equipment which can operate outdoors, but many of our deployments now take place in rural areas operating in green field scenarios.  We have installed networks in fields, on islands, on top of buildings, in ports, at racing tracks and in airfields.  We pride ourselves on making networks work where others have failed.

How fast can you deploy a network?

As a company we have deployed networks with just a weeks’ notice internationally, the more notice we have the better we can prepare for your requirement but we are able to respond within 24 hours if required.

Can you provide phones as well?

Yes, we are able to provide VoIP phones which will operate over our temporary network, which means you don’t need to worry about mobile phone signals, the phones work through the connectivity we’re providing.  These are great for use in green field deployments and can provide critical communications where mobile phones usually fail. (Crucial to have the ability to dial 999 for emergency services for example).

How fast are the internet speeds you supply?

We supply networks using all different technologies, our fibre networks can provide up to 1gb connectivity whereas satellite networks generally offer around 30mbps connections.  Give us a call and we can talk through your exact requirements and give you an indication of speed available.

Do you provide full installation and on-site support?

We have a team of over 50 experienced network engineers which means we are able to provide professional installation, on-site support and de-rig guaranteed to provide a first class network.

Can I use some of my own equipment in your network?

In order to deliver the best possible service, we use our own enterprise-level equipment  This is particularly important at large exhibitions and environments in which there is a lot of separate networks.  If we allow other equipment onto the network, there is a dramatic increase in the level of network interference from devices which operate at ranges not pre-set by us.  By ensuring that all clients are using our equipment we can ensure the best possible connectivity for all users.

Can you provide connectivity to PDQ machines as well as iPhones & laptops?

We can provide a network which communicates with all devices, providing they operate within 2.4 or 5ghz we are able to provide connectivity. 

How much bandwidth do I need?

This is one of our most commonly asked questions, and there is no simple answer to this. In order for us to provide you with a quotation and therefore an answer to this we will need to know as much information about your event as possible. Location plans, expected attendees, location, budget, all of these have a bearing on the bandwidth we would recommend you have.   The good news is we can calculate this very quickly, so give us a call and we can talk through your requirements and get you a quote within 24 hours.

I know nothing about connectivity can you still help?

We pride ourselves on providing good honest advice, based on years of experience and we ask the right questions about your event to find out what your true requirements are, and then provide you with a quotation and explanation of the network.   You don’t need to have technical knowledge, we take care of that for you – you’re in safe hands with our experienced team.

I have a small budget can you help?

We can provide a network to cater to all budgets, no matter how big or small. We can even help you cover the cost of providing internet connectivity at your event, by turning it into an innovative sponsorship package with branded splash pages, or by installing a payment gateway above a certain level of bandwidth so that heavy users contribute to the cost.  We can also take a partnership approach which works well for exhibitions – we manage connectivity orders on your behalf so that the cost of connectivity pays for itself through each of your exhibitors specifying and paying for their own requirements.

Can I get connectivity where there is currently not a network?

We have provided networks into all different types of events in all different locations.   We can provide you a temporary network in a hotel or conference centre, or a network in a green field in the middle of nowhere – we’ve even installed networks on islands with no connectivity!  No challenge is too difficult for us.

How does satellite broadband work?

Rather than use an underground copper/fibre network like BT, satellite broadband operates by sending and receiving your broadband signal to a satellite about 22,000 miles in space. Because the satellite sits high up in space, it can provide equal quality of coverage to every home or business in its footprint. That’s why the satellite broadband services that we offer are available across the whole of Europe.  It’s a great solution for events which are remote or isolated from connectivity infrastructure, or which need a connectivity solution quickly, for a very short time which doesn’t warrant installing a hard-wired infrastructure.
